RECIPE: THE HANGED MAN

INGREDIENTS
- 1 large cucumber, halved crosswise
- ½ cucumber, diced (½ cup or 90 g)
- ½ cucumber, reserved for garnish
- ½ cup (120 ml) lime juice
- ½ cup (120 g) white sugar, or equivalent substitute
- 1½ cups (360 ml) water
- 1 tsp (3 g) Assam black tea leaves
DIRECTIONS
Cold-Brewed Tea (yields 360 ml)
- Combine water and black tea leaves in a small container.
- Seal and refrigerate for 6 hours.
- Pass through a strainer to remove tea leaves.
- Seal and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Cucumber Cordial (yields ¾ cup or 180 ml)
- In a blender, combine diced cucumber, lime juice, and sugar.
- Blend at high speed until smooth.
- Pass through a fine mesh strainer, pressing firmly on solids to release more liquid. Discard solids.
- Seal and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Per Serving
- 3 oz Cold-Brewed Tea
- 1½ oz Cucumber Cordial
- 1 cucumber ribbon
- In a tall 12 oz glass with ice, pour 3 oz Cold-Brewed Tea and 1½ oz Cucumber Cordial.
- Stir to mix.
- Garnish with a ribbon of cucumber, taken lengthwise with a vegetable peeler. Using a spoon, push the ribbon into the cocktail and press it against the glass wall in a vertical spiral.
